The Russians hit the center of Odesa with ballistic missiles, there is destruction and casualties

Late yesterday evening, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Odesa, as a result of which one of the elite hotels in the city center was damaged and 7 people were injured. About this reported the mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov.

“Russian terrorists attacked the historic center of Odessa with rockets. The relevant services are working at the site of the attack. There is a lot of damage and destruction in the UNESCO protected area, a damaged building is under increased protection,” – the message says.

Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration clarified that seven people were wounded as a result of the Russian shelling of Odesa:

“Currently, seven people are known to have been injured as a result of the attack by Russian terrorists on the historic center of Odessa. All of them are in a moderate condition.”

Before that, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded high-speed targets moving from the Black Sea in the direction of the city. After a series of explosions, eyewitnesses reported broken windows and destruction in the historic center of Odessa. In particular, the hotel “Bristol” on Italiyska Street – one of the oldest buildings in the city – was damaged. A large pit appeared near the hotel.

The Prosecutor General’s Office announced that criminal proceedings have been opened on the facts of war crimes:

“According to the investigation, on the evening of January 31, the armed forces of the Russian Federation attacked Odesa with ballistic missiles, previously of the Iskander type. In the central part of the city, the hotel building was destroyed, windows were broken and the facades of nearby houses and premises were damaged.”
