The SBI exposed the Kyiv prosecutor for misappropriating UAH 4.2 million of material evidence
The State Bureau of Investigation has accused the prosecutor of one of Kyiv’s district prosecutor’s offices of misappropriating over 4.2 million hryvnias seized during the search.

According to the investigation, the prosecutor, supervising the criminal proceedings, seized a significant amount of money in different currencies from the businessman. However, instead of depositing the funds, he appropriated them and disappeared.
The law enforcement officers established that the prosecutor stopped showing up at work and changed his place of residence. He is accused of abuse of official position and taking possession of someone else’s property in particularly large amounts, which carries a penalty of up to 15 years of imprisonment.
At present, the defendant has been given a preventive measure in the form of a personal commitment. The investigation is ongoing under the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
