The Times announces the number of recruits Ukraine wants to mobilise by the end of 2024
Ukraine plans to mobilize an additional 200,000 recruits by the end of 2024 informs edition of The Times with reference to the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Defense Roman Kostenko.
However, achieving this goal is becoming an increasingly difficult challenge for the country. According to The Times, currently the pace of mobilization leaves much to be desired: “The goal of 200,000 recruits is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve.”
A representative of one of the territorial procurement centers in Odesa reported that the region was unable to fulfill even 20% of the plan.
“Odesa region is one of the worst on the list”, he noted.
It will be recalled that the military units received the right to mobilize reservists and conscripts who voluntarily wish to serve, which greatly facilitated the process. This is an opportunity that many teams have been waiting for for a long time.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved changes to the procedure for conscription for military service during mobilization. According to the innovations, commanders of military units now have the right to refer conscripts to medical commissions to determine their suitability for service.
Also, in October of this year, a new recruiting service will be available in the “Reserve+” application of the Ministry of Defense. This update will allow users to quickly find current vacancies in military units of the Armed Forces and easily determine the place of their future service.
