The Ukrainian national team will perform in full at the European Skeleton Championships for the first time in history
For the first time in its existence, the Ukrainian national team will perform in the full program of the European Skeleton Championship.
The Continental Skeleton Championship is scheduled for January 9 and will be held in St. Moritz, Switzerland. The competition will feature three starts: men’s races, women’s races, and team mixed.
Previously, the Ukrainian team was limited in its representation at this tournament. Until the 2023/24 season, only one athlete, Vladyslav Geraskevych, took part in the European Championship. Later, the team expanded: Yaroslav Lavreniuk, who consistently competes at the World Cup stages, joined him.
This year, the number of Ukrainian participants increased again, which allowed the team to enter all disciplines of the tournament, the program of which was expanded this season.
Ukraine will go to the European Championship in St. Moritz with three athletes: 17-year-old Maria Ivchuk will compete alongside Vladyslav Geraskevych and Yaroslav Lavreniuk.
