The US has accused China of aiding Russia in the war against Ukraine, stressing that Beijing’s actions are inconsistent with its claims of peace. About this stated Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Robert Wood, at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
The American diplomat noted that China’s support for Russia contradicts the principles of the UN Charter.
“China stated in this Council that sovereignty and territorial integrity should be respected. But if it were serious about this, it would use its influence to stop the Russian Federation from violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.” he emphasized.
Wood emphasized that China continues to supply Russia with dual-use goods that support its military-industrial complex. These are materials for the production of bombs, spare parts for machinery, equipment for weapons factories, as well as technologies for drones and missiles.
The diplomat also noted that Chinese products are used by Russia for attacks on civilian objects and infrastructure of Ukraine, and Chinese companies contribute to the development and production of long-range drones for the Russian Federation.
