The United States at the UN criticized China’s “peace plan” regarding the war in Ukraine

China’s six-point initiative, which concerns the settlement of the so-called “Ukrainian crisis”, does not correspond to the Ukrainian Peace Formula and does not support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. This was stated by the US Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Robert Wood, during a speech on Friday, September 13.
“China’s six-point plan will set a dangerous precedent. We are not here to reward violators of the UN Charter.”, – emphasized Wood.
He emphasized that the only quick way to peace for Russia is the withdrawal of its troops from the territory of Ukraine and the cessation of attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and civilians.
Wood also drew attention to the fact that China actually supports Russian aggression through its “unrestricted partnership” with Russia. Beijing actively helps the Russian defense industry, which allows Moscow to continue the war.
“China supplies Russia with dual-use materials such as weapons components, equipment, and raw materials. These supplies include nitrocellulose, machine tools, microelectronics, optics, drones, and cruise missile technology that Russia uses to attack civilians and destroy Ukraine’s infrastructure. How China can be a supporter of peace if he allows Russia to fight?”, – emphasized Wood.
He also emphasized that China helps Russia spread propaganda and disinformation about Ukraine, justifying Russian aggression with “legitimate security considerations.” At the same time, the US representative stated that Russia’s actions in Ukraine have no legal justification.
It is worth noting that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, called the peace plans of China and Brazil destructive for ending the war unleashed by Russia.
