The United States has carried out dozens of airstrikes against the facilities of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” (ISIS) in Syria. About this informs Central Command of the US Armed Forces.
The US military struck 75 known ISIS targets in central Syria. Among them are command centers, operational bases and training camps of the group.
The operation was aimed at destroying ISIS leaders and fighters, as well as disrupting the group’s activities. The goal was to prevent terrorists from preparing external operations and to ensure that the Islamic State could not use the current volatile situation to regain its influence in the region.
“The assessment of the damage results is ongoing, there are no indications of civilian casualties”, the statement says.
General Michael Eric Kurilla emphasized that the United States will not allow ISIS to take advantage of the situation that has arisen since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime. He also warned that any cooperation of other organizations in Syria with ISIS will not go unpunished.
