The United States Mint announced the release of a coin featuring the image of Steve Jobs
The United States Mint announced the release of a new collector coin in the American Innovation $1 Coin series, which honors outstanding innovators and their ideas. In 2026, the series will be joined by a coin depicting Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple.
The coin depicts a young Jobs in a light turtleneck, jeans, and sneakers. The reverse is engraved with the inscription “make something wonderful” – a reference to his philosophy of creating simple but revolutionary products. The composition is complemented by the landscape of northern California with hills, symbolizing the environment that inspired Jobs to transform complex technologies into understandable and organic solutions.
In addition to the inscriptions “United States of America” and “California”, the name “Steven Jobs” is inscribed on the coin. Its face value will be $1, but the actual value for collectors will be higher. The coin can be purchased on the U.S. Mint website: individually for $13.25, in a set of four coins for $27.50, as well as in rolls of 25 or bags of 100 pieces.
The American Innovation $1 Coin program began in 2018. Each US state has the right to nominate its own innovator or invention, symbolizing his contribution to the development of the country. In the case of California, the initiative was initiated by Governor Gavin Newsom, who emphasized that Jobs’ willingness to experiment and push the boundaries of the possible embodies the spirit of the state.
Thus, collectors and Apple fans will be able to purchase a coin that honors the legacy of a man who influenced not only the technology industry, but also the culture of digital consumption in the world.
