The United States refuses to play the role of mediator in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine

The United States no longer intends to act as a mediator in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine — the time has come for direct contacts between the parties. She stated this at the briefing a representative State Department Tammy Bruce.

“We will not be mediators. We will not fly to the other side of the world at a moment’s notice to moderate meetings. Now the work must be done between the two parties.” she noted.

According to the representative of the State Department, the USA will continue to make efforts to establish peace, but from now on the outcome of the conflict depends on the “specific ideas” of Moscow and Kyiv.

Vice President JD Vance has given the United States 100 days to prepare for direct talks between Russia and Ukraine. According to him, the parties have already announced their proposals for peace, and now Washington will deal with bringing their positions closer together. The first step towards a settlement was that each of the parties presented their vision of peace.

“The Ukrainians said, ‘This is what we want.’ The Russians said, ‘This is what we want,’ and now the job of diplomacy is to try to somehow bring these two sides together. We’re going to work very hard over the next 100 days to try to bring these guys together.” – explained the vice president of the USA.
