The United States temporarily “unfrozen” part of foreign aid

The US State Department has decided to temporarily extend funding for humanitarian programs aimed at saving lives. This was stated by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, informs The Washington Post
Rubio made an exception for initiatives that provide access to life-saving medicines, health care, food, shelter and livelihoods. At the same time, programs related to abortion, gender issues, transgender support, and other aspects not directly related to saving lives were not covered by this decision.
In his statement, Rubio said that humanitarian initiatives that meet the criteria can continue or resume operations if previously suspended. However, many humanitarian organizations that received this letter remained uncertain about the possibility of continuing their activities.
It will be recalled that on January 20, US President Donald Trump banned the US Agency for International Development (USAID) from providing aid to other countries for 90 days. During this time, programs will be checked for compliance with US foreign policy.
