The US seeks to participate in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, considering a wider range of possibilities, and not only the development of Ukrainian deposits of valuable resources. This was stated by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, informs Fox Business.
“Currently, we are allies of the Ukrainians in matters of values. We support them in matters of security and seek closer cooperation in the economic sphere. I believe that this will be mutually beneficial. When the Americans have a stake in the recovery of the Ukrainian economy after the end of this conflict, the United States will also benefit.”, – noted Bessent.
According to him, the USA will play the role of a “catalyst of the economic growth of Ukraine”, in which American investments and innovations will play an important role. He emphasized that Poland, which borders Ukraine, has become one of the world leaders in economic development over the past 30 years.
“So why can’t Ukraine repeat this success? And why shouldn’t Americans benefit from it — through rare resources, energy, and state-owned enterprises? We can help Ukrainians implement best practices in privatization and modernization.”, – emphasized the Minister of Finance of the USA.
He reminded that Ukraine has significant deposits of strategic minerals, but most of them are still processed in China. So this issue, according to him, “needs to be resolved.”
