The US plans to issue dollars with Trump’s image

The U.S. Treasury Department is considering a plan to issue new $1 coins featuring President Donald Trump as part of the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations. This is reported by FOX Business.

“While the final design of the United States 250th anniversary $1 coin has yet to be chosen, this first design does a good job of reflecting the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, even in the face of enormous obstacles. We look forward to sharing more information in the near future, the US Treasury Department said in a statement.

Also, the first sketches of coins, the authenticity of which was confirmed by the US Treasury Department, were made public. The obverse of the coin depicts Donald Trump in profile with the words “Liberty Above” and “In God we Trust” and years “1776–2026 below”.

The reverse of the coin features the famous image of Trump with a raised fist after the assassination attempt on him in Pennsylvania, against the background of the American flag, with the words “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT”.

“America is back, and with it the one dollar coin. Trump will forever remain the face of America’s 250th anniversary, said the communications adviser of Texas Republican Senator Steve Guest.

The Treasury Department has the legal authority to mint $1 collector coins, particularly for events such as next year’s 250th anniversary of the United States. The last commemorative coins issued by the US Mint were the “Harriet Tubman” and “The Greatest Generation”, which were released in 2024 and sold a total of 56,894 and 79,980 units, respectively.
