The use of American weapons should be limited to the territory of Ukraine: Pentagon
Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh confirmed at the briefing that the US has not changed its position regarding the use of military aid provided by Ukraine exclusively for the defense and return of its territories. This means that American weapons should not be used for strikes on the territory of Russia.
Singh emphasized that the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, regularly discusses with the Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov the issue of the effective use of the provided means, and the US expects that this will take place within the Ukrainian territory.
She added that the US had made its requests in this regard “quite public”.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also stated that the US does not authorize the use of American weapons for strikes against the Russian Federation, but did not oppose such strikes in principle.
