According to Energy Map data, in June 2024, Ukraine imported 858.4 thousand MWh of electricity. This is 6% higher than the figure purchased for the entire year 2023 (806.4 thousand MWh). In addition, this is the largest monthly volume of imports in the last ten years.

According to the results of the month, the largest amount of electricity was imported from Hungary – 357.1 thousand MWh or 42%. Ukraine received another 297 thousand MWh from Slovakia and Romania (17% from each country) and 138.1 thousand MWh (16%) from Poland. The least was purchased from Moldova – 66.2 thousand MWh or 8% of the monthly volumes.
Compared to the previous month (448.2 thousand MWh), imports have almost doubled, and since June 2023 (43.7 thousand MWh) they have increased almost twenty times.
Ukraine did not export electricity in June.
In addition, in June, Ukraine received emergency aid from Romania, Slovakia, and Poland for five days (June 4, 9, 10, 27, and 28) and provided surplus electricity on June 2 and 22 due to the lack of supply to domestic consumers For eight days in June, Ukraine provided assistance to Poland in the form of emergency reception of excess electricity, receiving a total of more than 8,000 MWh. electricity.
