The White House announced the date of the meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping
The administration of US President Donald Trump has announced that he will meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on October 30. This was reported by spokeswoman Caroline Levitt on October 23 during a briefing.
“On October 30, President Trump will participate in a bilateral meeting with the leader of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, after which he will leave for Washington. The meeting will be held in the South Korean city of Busan as part of the ASEAN Trade and Consultative Meeting”, Caroline Levitt told the details.
During the several-day trip, the US president will also visit Malaysia and Japan, where separate bilateral meetings are scheduled. He previously said he planned to discuss tariffs on imports from China with the Chinese leader.
“The Chinese took our money, but now everything has changed. I mean, we have a good relationship with China. I don’t know what’s going to happen next. I can’t say, but we plan to meet in South Korea with Leader Xi and other people,” — Trump explained.
As a reminder, the previous in-person meeting between the leaders took place on June 29, 2019, at the G20 summit in Osaka, when Trump was in his first presidential term.
