The White House responded to Putin’s nuclear hints
The administration of US President Joe Biden does not see any real threats of Russia’s use of nuclear weapons, despite the Kremlin’s rhetoric in recent days.
This was emphasized by the coordinator of the US National Security Council, John Kirby during the briefing, conveys “Voice of America”.
He noted that the United States continues to closely monitor the situation.
“For the leader of a major nuclear power, it is simply reckless to rattle off a nuclear arsenal and hint at its likely use. I can tell you that so far we have seen nothing, despite the reckless rhetoric, that would cause us to change our posture of strategic deterrenceKirby replied.
According to him, if the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is so afraid of defeating his soldiers with Western-made weapons, then the best way would be to withdraw them from Ukraine.
“If Putin and Russian officials are concerned that their troops in Ukraine could be hit by weapons made in other countries, the easiest way to avoid that is simply to withdraw their troops“, – noted Kirby.
