The world’s first round-the-clock solar power plant has been launched in the UAE

The United Arab Emirates has announced the launch of a unique project for the uninterrupted supply of electricity based on solar panels. About this informs SolarQuarter.
The project is being implemented in Abu Dhabi with the participation of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC).
This large-scale initiative will generate and store solar energy, ensuring a stable supply of renewable electricity 24/7. The capacity of the system will be up to 1 gigawatt per day, making it the world’s largest plant that combines the production and storage of solar energy.
The project is based on a photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 5.2 GW in combination with a battery system with a capacity of 19 GW-hours. This eliminates the risks of supply interruptions, which are often a challenge for renewable energy.
According to EWEC Executive Director Othman Al Ali, this initiative sets new standards for sustainable energy development and innovation. Masdar CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi said the project also has a significant economic impact, creating more than 10,000 new jobs.
