There is no longer a single community of the UOC-MP left in the Lviv region
Lviv region became the first region of Ukraine where there is no longer a single registered religious community subordinate to the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate. About this stated Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
“Today is a historic day for Lviv Oblast – the region has been cleansed of religious communities subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate. Lviv Oblast became the first in Ukraine where there is no longer a single registered religious community of the Russian Orthodox Church! Before the start of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine in 2014, there were 66 religious communities in our region of the Moscow Patriarchate. As of February 24, 2022, there were 54 of these communities., – said Kozytskyi.
According to him, during the war, 27 communities transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, and another 27 stopped their activities on their own initiative. This trend, as the head of the region emphasized, demonstrates that manipulation and deception have no future.
“I sincerely hope that the religious communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in other regions of our country will not wait for the implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of the Constitutional Order in the Field of Activities of Religious Organizations”, but will finally break ties with the structure of the bloody Moscow priests.” – emphasized the official.
