This year, agricultural production in Ukraine decreased by 18.5%: State Statistics Service

In 2025, the volume of production of agricultural products in Ukraine decreased by 18.5% compared to the same period last year, reported State Statistics Service.

“This is due primarily to a reduction in crop production. The main reasons are: seasonality of plant production; unfavorable weather conditions, the consequence of which was later harvesting of grain and oil crops and a decrease in their yield”, the message says.

According to estimates, in January-July 2025, the index of agricultural products was 81.5% of the indicator for the same period in 2024. The largest reduction was recorded in crop production – up to 74.5%, while livestock production was more stable – the index is 95.3%.

Agricultural enterprises felt the biggest decline, where production in seven months decreased to 77.7% of last year’s level. In households, this indicator is higher – 89.7% for the corresponding period. The most noticeable drop in production occurred in Khmelnytskyi region – up to 46.3% from last year’s level, as well as in Donetsk region – up to 47.8%.

At the same time, the growth of agricultural production was recorded in several regions. In particular, farmers of Zaporizhzhia, Zakarpattia and Odesa regions exceeded last year’s results. Mykolaiv Oblast became the leader, where the agricultural production index reached 106.7%.
