This year, Kyiv received a record tourist tax despite the martial law
The tourism industry of the capital of Ukraine is gradually recovering its position, as evidenced by the financial results. In the first six months of 2025, Kyiv received a record 34.8 million UAH in tourist tax, reported the Department of Tourism and Promotions of the Kyiv City State Administration.
This indicator is almost 65% higher than the result of the same period in 2024, when revenues amounted to UAH 22.6 million. In total, for 2024, Kyiv received UAH 50.83 million from the tourist tax, which was also significantly more compared to previous years.
In 2022, the tourist tax was 38.8 million UAH, and in 2023 – 38.5 million UAH. Thus, for two years, the capital has demonstrated stable growth even under the conditions of martial law.
“Such changes became possible thanks to the coordinated work of Ukrainian cities on the development of domestic tourism, promotional activities on the international arena and within the country, as well as the cooperation of the tourism community, business and local authorities”, emphasized the Department of Tourism and Promotions of the Kyiv City State Administration.
The department emphasizes that revenues from the tourist tax remain a significant source for the city budget. These funds are directed to the priority needs of Kyiv, while at the same time ensuring the development of the tourism industry.
