This year, Ukrainians paid 7.7 billion hryvnia in real estate tax: State Tax Service

Since the beginning of the year, real estate owners have paid 7.7 billion hryvnias in tax on real estate other than land. About this reported State Tax Service of Ukraine.

The amount of revenues increased by 20.9% (1.3 billion UAH) compared to the same period last year. For January – July 2024, this figure amounted to UAH 6.4 billion, the message states.

More than 30% of all revenues went to the local budgets of Kyiv and Kyiv region. In particular, the city of Kyiv – UAH 1.58 billion, Kyiv Oblast – UAH 0.78 billion. Among the leaders are also Dnipropetrovsk region (0.77 billion UAH) and Odesa region (0.75 billion UAH).

“Real estate tax is paid by natural persons – owners of apartments with an area of more than 60 square meters, houses with an area of more than 120 square meters, and owners of other different types of housing, including their shares, with an area of more than 180 square meters.”– the traffic police explained.

Also, during the conclusion of the contract of sale of real estate, it is necessary to pay mandatory payments: state duty, personal income tax (PIT), military and pension taxes.

As a reminder, in the first five months of 2025, Ukrainians paid UAH 4.9 billion in real estate tax, which is 17% more than in the same period last year. Despite more favorable price conditions on the real estate market compared to the pre-war period, Ukrainians are currently not ready to actively invest in housing due to war risks.
