Trump and Putin had a phone conversation: the US president called the conversation “very good and productive”
The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, held telephone talks. The White House announced the end of the conversation, saying it lasted an hour and a half.
The White House also said the two leaders had begun laying the groundwork for a ceasefire, which would include an agreement to immediately end attacks on energy facilities. It informs NBC News.
“This conflict should never have started and should have been ended long ago through sincere and good faith peace efforts.” – says the statement of the White House.
Donald Trump called the conversation with Vladimir Putin “very good and productive”. That’s what he’s about wrote in the Truth Social social network.
“We have agreed to an immediate ceasefire on all energy and infrastructure, understanding that we will work quickly to achieve a full ceasefire and, ultimately, an end to this horrific war between Russia and Ukraine.” – Donald Trump said.
We will remind, on the eve of this conversation, he emphasized that both Volodymyr Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky would like the war to end:
“Many elements of the peace agreement were discussed, including the fact that thousands of soldiers are dying, and both President Putin and President Zelensky would like to see it end. This process is now in full force, and we will hopefully, for the sake of Humanity, get the job done!”
Details of the phone conversation between Trump and Putin are expected to be announced soon.
