He also expressed his readiness to talk personally with the head of the Kremlin in order to achieve a ceasefire. Trump also announced that his envoy Steve Witkoff is conducting “serious negotiations in Russia” and is due to meet with Putin in the near future.
“I hope Russia will do the right thing. I have leverage, but I don’t want to talk about leverage right now because we’re just talking to them right now.”, – emphasized the American president.
Trump added that if Russia does not agree to a cease-fire, it will be an “extraordinary moment of disappointment for the world.”
