Trump promises to declassify documents on the assassinations of Kennedy and Martin Luther King
Newly elected US President Donald Trump announced his team’s intention to declassify documents related to the assassinations of the 35th president John Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. About this informs CNN.
The corresponding statement was made during a performance at the Capitol One arena in Washington. During his first presidency, Trump withheld all records related to the Kennedy assassination, citing requests from national security agencies.
“In the coming days, we are going to release the remaining records related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and other topics of great public interest.” he noted.
It will be recalled that Robert Kennedy Jr., appointed by Trump as the new Secretary of Health and Social Services, is the son of former US Attorney General Robert Francis Kennedy, who died in June 1968 as a result of a bullet wound.
