Trump returned the death penalty by his decree

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order requiring the attorney general to ensure the country has enough lethal injection drugs needed to carry out death sentences. About this informs Associated Press.

“Government’s most sacred duty is to protect its citizens from heinous acts, and my administration will not tolerate efforts to cripple and emasculate laws that authorize the death penalty against those who commit heinous acts of violence against American citizens.”, – the decree states.

In the document, Trump instructed the attorney general to take all necessary and lawful measures to ensure the execution of the death penalty at the federal level. The order also obligates the US Department of Justice not only to actively seek the death penalty in relevant cases, but also to promote its preservation as a punishment.

The president has emphasized the use of federal jurisdiction to seek the death penalty in cases involving the killing of law enforcement officers or crimes committed by illegal immigrants.

In addition, Trump has directed the attorney general to seek to overturn Supreme Court precedents that limit the power of both the federal and state governments to impose death sentences.
