Trump’s victory increased Musk’s wealth by $15 billion
Following Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election, Tesla shares rose by 12%, adding $15 billion to Elon Musk’s fortune, allowing him to maintain his position as the world’s richest man. This is reported by Forbes.
In the morning, Tesla shares rose to more than $280, which could be a new record for the company, exceeding the previous high of $273.54 recorded on 27 October.
Musk owns about 13% of Tesla shares, so, according to Forbes, their growth has increased his wealth by $15 billion.
Musk actively supported Trump during the election campaign, donating at least $118 million to the America PAC.
During his speech, Trump praised Musk, calling him a ‘super genius’ after he actively campaigned for Trump in Pennsylvania.
Trump has also previously stated his commitment to electric vehicles, although shortly before that he had assured that he should not be too worried about the sector.
