The Russian Federation has built a new site for the launch of “shaheds” in Bryansk region
In the Bryansk region, just 35 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, the Russian military has set up a new site for launching Shahed kamikaze drones. This became known thanks to satellite images published by analyst Brady Africk.
The published photos show the extensive infrastructure of the complex, located between the settlements of Voyna, Oleshok, Golyshyn, Zhiviy Klyuch and Martynivka. The pictures show the presence of four storage areas, disguised in large hoods, inside which structures reminiscent of canopies are visible. There are also two launch sites equipped with catapults for launching drones.
The Russian army is actively creating similar facilities not only in the border regions, but also in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. At the end of the summer of 2025, damage to the same complex was recorded at the Primorsko-Akhtarsk airfield, located in the south of Russia.
It was also possible to discover two more similar objects in the Oryol and Bryansk regions. One of them, located in the Oryol region 175 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, is the main launch pad for long-range drones and belongs to the largest such complexes in Russia. It was there that the Russian TV channel “Zvezda” filmed a propaganda plot, demonstrating the launch of drones on the territory of Ukraine.
Another site is located near the village of Navlya in the Bryansk region. Although it is smaller in scale, its infrastructure is similar to the main complex. There are three storage bunkers on the territory, but there are no stationary launchers – drones are launched directly from cars.
