Two Romanian boats violated the state border of Ukraine
Two Romanian boats violated the state border of Ukraine on the Danube. Their crews were detained, and after drawing up administrative protocols, they were handed over to the Romanian side. This is reported by the DPSU press service.
“The border guards detained the violators with a difference of several hours. As it turned out, both vessels went fishing without maps and navigational devices, so they accidentally entered the internal waters of Ukraine, – noted the DPSU.
Four Romanian citizens who were on board the boats were issued administrative reports for illegally crossing the state border. In the end, the violators were handed over to the Romanian side.
We remind you that in August 2025, Ukraine resumed navigation through the Bystre estuary channel, which connects the Danube with the Black Sea. Movement is permitted for vessels with a draft of up to 4.5 meters, subject to mandatory pilotage and only during daylight hours.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the mouth of the “Bystre” was closed due to the cases of ships being blown up by sea mines. Traffic was first resumed in August 2022, when small river-sea bulkers passed through it, the largest of which was the 138-meter Chelsea vessel with a displacement of 6,135 tons. Later, the water corridor was closed again to carry out hydrographic work, in particular deepening the bottom, which would allow the passage of much larger vessels.
