UK trains Ukrainian platoon leaders in combat tactics

Intensive training for future platoon commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is ongoing in Great Britain, conducted by instructors from Australia and Finland. These classes are focused on improving the skills of conducting combat operations in urban conditions, informs The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its Facebook page.

The training takes place within the framework of the multinational operation INTERFLEX, aimed at training the Ukrainian military to perform combat tasks in the complex conditions of urban development. During training, cadets receive practical lectures on tactics of movement in cities, entering buildings, working with corners and obstacles. Special attention is paid to the tactics of the platoon and detachment during the attack on built-up areas.

After the lectures, the cadets independently prepare combat orders, using intelligence, engaging artillery and storming buildings occupied by the enemy. In each session, participants alternately play the roles of platoon commander, unit commander, and attack aircraft, which allows them to practice team actions and decision-making in combat situations.

Such training helps future platoon commanders to gain valuable practical skills necessary for the effective performance of combat missions in the complex conditions of urban warfare.
