Auditors of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with representatives of the US Department of Defense, conducted a study of the process of accounting for international military aid. About this reported The Ministry of Defense on its Telegram channel.
During the inspection, the use of American spare parts for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was investigated. Although no significant violations were found, the audit showed the presence of certain gaps in the regulatory framework, which complicate the circulation of these spare parts.
Director of the Department of Internal Audit of the IOU, Colonel Oleksandr Tytkovsky, noted that the audit was conducted in accordance with the standards approved by the US government. He emphasized that in order to improve the accounting system, it is planned to introduce a unified software product and prepare a Memorandum between the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Office of the Inspector General of the US Department of Defense. This should increase control over the use of security assistance and strengthen partnership relations between Ukraine and the United States.
It will be recalled that during his visit to Kyiv, US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin announced the allocation of a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 400 million dollars.
