Ukraine exported a record amount of ice cream: details

In 2023, Ukraine showed impressive growth in ice cream exports, which increased by 44% compared to 2022.

About this it is said in the message of the Ukrainian Agricultural Export Association with reference to the information of the State Customs Service.

The European Union is traditionally the main buyer of Ukrainian ice cream. In 2023, exports to EU countries brought in more than 19 million dollars, which accounted for 60% of the total value of exported ice cream.

It is important to note that Ukraine is not limited to the European market. Last year, ice cream was exported to more than 20 countries, including:

  • Moldova (2301 tons)
  • Germany (1909 tons)
  • Poland (1873 tons)
  • Israel (963 tons)
  • Lithuania (509 tons)
  • Czech Republic (425 tons)

In addition, ice cream from Ukraine went to such exotic countries as Iraq, USA, China, UAE, Ivory Coast, Gambia and Canada.

The trend towards the growth of ice cream exports will continue in 2024. In the first quarter, compared to the same period in 2023, export volumes increased by 23%, reaching 2 thousand tons, and revenue – by 25%, reaching 7 million dollars. The largest revenues from ice cream exports in the first quarter of 2024 were received by companies that sold their products to Germany, Poland and Moldova.
