Ukraine initiates urgent meeting of UN Security Council due to Russia’s strike “Oreshnik” on Lviv region
Ukraine plans to urgently appeal to the international community after Russia used the “Oreshnik” medium-range ballistic missile in the Lviv region. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced on the X social network that Ukraine will initiate an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council, as well as a response within the framework of the Ukraine-NATO Council, the EU, the Council of Europe and the OSCE.
“Such a strike near the borders of the EU and NATO is a serious threat to security on the European continent and a test for the transatlantic community. We demand a decisive response to Russia’s reckless actions. … We will initiate international action – an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council, a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, as well as a response within the framework of the EU, the Council of Europe and the OSCE, – said Sibiga.
According to him, Russia has confirmed the use of the “Oreshnik” missile in the Lviv region, which poses a serious threat to European security and requires a decisive international response.
