Ukrainian gas stations introduce restrictions on the use of chargers
Ukrainian gas stations, in particular the OKKO network, have begun to impose restrictions on the use of charging sockets. In particular, customers are prohibited from connecting powerful chargers and portable power stations to them. This was reported by Naftogaz in the company’s press service. As noted on the network, information appeared on social networks about the ban on charging portable charging stations at OKKO gas stations during blackouts. The company confirmed these restrictions.
The press service explained that all OKKO gas stations are equipped with generators, so the outlets in the retail premises remain available. They can be used to recharge smartphones, laptops, tablets, ordinary power banks and other low-power devices.
At the same time, due to the increased fire hazard of the facilities, it is prohibited to use extension cords at gas stations, as well as to connect energy-intensive equipment to standard outlets. This includes, in particular, portable power stations with a capacity of more than 1 kW, electric cars, electric scooters and similar devices.
The company emphasizes that such measures are aimed at preventing overloading of power grids and reducing the risk of fires.
