Ukraine is preparing a new foreign policy strategy: Sybiga

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga announced the development of a new strategy for foreign policy activity, which is being formed based on the results of a meeting with Ukrainian ambassadors. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The current strategy was approved in 2021 and remains a basic document in the field of external communications. However, according to the minister, it should be updated in accordance with the conditions of war.

“The war put many dots over the “and” for us as a state. This new awareness must be reflected in the new strategy.” – emphasized Sibyga.

He also announced his intention to review approaches to the formation of international partnerships.

“We are finally streamlining approaches to strategic partnerships. Such relations must be supported by practical actions and work effectively in support of Ukraine. We envisage several levels and gradations,” – noted the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Separately, the minister drew attention to the need to coordinate the sanctions policy with international allies.

“We are doing important “homework”. At the end of June – beginning of July, we synchronized sanctions packages from 13 to 17 with the EU. Soon we will implement 18. We also initiated changes to legislation to harmonize sanctions pressure”, he added.
