Ukraine received 26 Archer self-propelled artillery systems from Sweden
Ukraine has strengthened its artillery capabilities thanks to the assistance of Sweden, which transferred 26 Archer self-propelled artillery systems. Information about this was published by the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine.
These systems are already actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular by servicemen of the 45th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Ukrainian artillerymen, the installations demonstrate high efficiency when hitting Russian positions at distances of up to 50 kilometers.
The Swedish diplomatic mission noted that intensive combat operation leads to rapid wear of the barrels. In view of this, in mid-2025, Sweden additionally transferred more than ten spare barrels to Ukraine.
Archer is a modern self-propelled howitzer created on the basis of a heavy all-terrain vehicle. The system is controlled remotely from an armored cabin. The installation is equipped with automated ballistic calculations, is able to quickly change positions and provides high accuracy of fire. In addition, it is compatible with international standard ammunition.
