Due to the bad weather, the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to transfer educational institutions to distance learning or extend vacations

Due to the sharp deterioration in weather conditions, the Cabinet of Ministers recommends temporarily changing the format of work of educational institutions throughout Ukraine. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, informing about the government’s decision against the background of the expected cold snap.

According to her, the Ministry of Education and Science, together with the regional and Kyiv city military administrations, has been instructed to work out the possibility of terminating full-time education. Depending on the situation in the regions, educational institutions may switch to a distance learning format or extend the winter holidays at least until January 19, 2026. These include kindergartens, schools, vocational, higher professional and higher education institutions.

At the same time, regional and metropolitan military administrations were recommended to consider the feasibility of temporarily transferring enterprises, institutions and organizations to remote work. At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasized:

“These recommendations do not apply to critical infrastructure facilities and other entities for which remote work is unacceptable under martial law”.
