Ukraine strengthens ties with Europe: new trains to the EU have been launched

Ukraine is launching two new railway routes to Bratislava and Budapest, which will start operating on December 15. In addition, the number of trains to Warsaw will be increased, as well as connections with the western regions of Ukraine will be expanded. reported Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
As the official noted, the new railway routes will provide convenient international connections:
- Kyiv – Bratislava: train #27/28 Kyiv – Chop – Kyiv paired with Slovak train #617/961 Chop – Bratislava – Chop.
This route will connect Kyiv, Lviv and Mukachevo with Bratislava, as well as with such cities of Slovakia as Košice, Žilina, Trnava, Trenčín, Poprad. Access to most cities in the Czech Republic will be opened, including Prague.
Transfers between trains will be coordinated, and tickets can be purchased with a single click through the mobile application or the website of Ukrzaliznytsia. The train schedule is designed to provide the most convenient transfers to routes to Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Innsbruck and Zurich. The wait between trains will not exceed two hours. Transfers to trains to Romania, Slovenia and other European countries are also provided.
Ukrzaliznytsia is also adding another pair of trains on the route Warsaw – Rava-Ruska – Lviv, as well as expanding connections with Chernivtsi. Modern diesel trains of Ukrainian production DPKr-3 will be used on the route. These innovations are aimed at improving the accessibility of international connections and providing comfortable conditions for passengers.
