Ukraine to open first arms export offices in Berlin and Copenhagen
Ukraine will open arms export offices in Berlin and Copenhagen this year. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a briefing.
“We are opening two export capitals. You know, this is coproduction and export, which we talked about, of the weapons that we can afford to sell in order to have additional money for our domestic production of scarce things that we do not have enough money for,” Zelensky noted.
He emphasized that the opening of the first two offices was agreed upon both at the company level and at the state level.
“The first two capitals – our offices will be there – are Berlin and Copenhagen. It will be this year. “Legally, all this will be opened and contracts will be worked out,” the president noted.
Volodymyr Zelensky also announced that a team from the United States will visit Ukraine next week to discuss an agreement on the production of drones, but he did not disclose details. In October, after meeting with US President Donald Trump, Zelensky said that the Ukrainian side was ready for negotiations with the US on cooperation in the field of unmanned technologies.
As a reminder, in September, Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine plans to export some of the weapons it has in surplus in order to receive additional funds for “shortage items.” According to him, agreements have already been reached to create four export platforms – in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
