Ukraine wants to improve the activities of science parks

The Science City project was launched in Ukraine, the purpose of which is to improve the work of science parks created at institutions of higher education and scientific institutions for the development of scientific, technical and innovative activities. About this reported Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology.

For the implementation of the project, a package of changes to the current legislation has been developed, which will contribute to the activation of innovative activities both in the science parks themselves and in universities and research institutions. Mykhailo Fedorov called the Science City initiative an important step in reforming the educational system of Ukraine, which should give a new impetus to the development of 36 science parks, most of which currently function only formally.

“Science City is a logical continuation of the transformation of education. We want to build a fast and flexible education system adapted to the challenges of the times. In order for the GDP of Ukraine to grow, people with different competencies are needed, therefore we are comprehensively transforming education – reforming schools, universities, vocational schools, creating new educational programs with a focus on innovation and opportunities for development in science“, Mykhailo Fedorov explained.

The project will create conditions for scientists to implement the results of their innovative developments on the market, focusing their attention on research, while the solution of administrative issues will be entrusted to the science park.
