Ukraine will approve updated tariffs for “Ukrenergo” for 2026
The National Commission for regulation of energy and utilities plans to finally approve tariffs for the transmission system operator NEC “Ukrenergo” on December 5, 2025; and distribution system operators, as well as establish tariffs for universal service providers for 2026.
According to the draft decision, the electricity transmission tariff for all system users, except for “green” metallurgy enterprises, is proposed to be increased to 785.39 UAH/MWh excluding VAT, which is 14.4% more than the current level. For “green” metallurgy companies, a separate rate is provided – 427.14 UAH/MWh, which means an increase of approximately 18.8%. If the document is adopted, the new tariffs will be effective from January 1, 2026.
ExPro notes that the necessary income for “Ukrenergo” for 2026, according to the updated tariff, it is estimated at UAH 74.17 billion. In parallel, the NEURC plans to revise the dispatching tariff: they want to increase it to UAH 110.03/MWh, which is 11% more than now.
The regulator explains that the largest share in the tariff will continue to be formed by the costs of fulfilling special obligations to ensure public interests, in particular to increase the share of electricity from renewable sources, except for private households. That is, we are talking about financing RES producers under the “green” tariff and the market premium mechanism.
