Ukrainian Navy reports cause of naval drone incident in Romania

The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that while performing tasks in the Black Sea operational zone, one of the unmanned sea boats lost control and ended up off the coast of Romania.

According to the data of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this happened under the influence of enemy electronic warfare equipment.

“The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided the necessary information to the naval forces of Romania in order to prevent losses among the civilian population,” the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

On the morning of June 5, the port of Constanta in Romania was urgently evacuated after the explosion of a naval drone. According to the Romanian publication Digi24, the drone got stuck in a pollution protection dam a few hundred meters from the oil terminal.

There were no injuries as a result of the explosion. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the competent Romanian authorities in cooperation with the Ukrainian side.
