Every tenth business opened in Poland last year is the brainchild of Ukrainians. During 2022-2023, our compatriots in the neighboring country registered 16,300 companies with the help of the “Action. Business” project. Most often, Ukrainians open businesses in Warsaw.

Favorable conditions for Ukrainians
Today, Ukrainians who have received a PESEL have the same conditions for creating a business as for Poles. This greatly simplifies bureaucratic registration procedures. In addition, the same benefits apply to Ukrainian businessmen as to Polish ones, and small and medium-sized businesses can use a simplified taxation system.
“During the registration of the enterprise, the owner has the opportunity to choose the rate at which he will be taxed. It ranges from 6% to 23%. There are three groups of taxation. At the same time, changing one group to another is quite simple. You can work for a month at one tax rate, apply again and change the rate to another. This is done online – in your personal electronic account,” he notes Victoria Korytnyk, head of the “Diya.Business” center in Warsaw.
The specialist assures that the tax office in Poland is as loyal as possible to business. The service can be called an assistant rather than a punitive body. For example, even if there are errors in the company’s tax returns, tax officials will point this out and give 30 days to correct the situation.
