Ukrainians warned about increased fines for violating cash register rules from August 1

From August 1, the transitional period, during which reduced fines for violations of the rules of application of settlement transaction registrars (PRO/PRRO) were in effect, will end. Therefore, from the beginning of August, fines will be charged in full for such violations, the State Tax Service reported.

The department reminded that in 2023, after resuming control over compliance with the requirements for the use of PRO, the state temporarily reduced the amount of fines to 25% and 50% in order to adapt business to new conditions. These exemptions will expire. Therefore, the fine for the first violation will be 100% of the value of goods, works or services, and for each subsequent one – 150%.

The DPS called on entrepreneurs to comply with the requirements for settlement operations in the field of trade, public catering and service provision: to use only registered PRO or PRRO, to make calculations for the full amount of the value of goods or services, as well as to issue settlement documents to buyers – in paper or electronic form.

“Complying with the requirements of the legislation will avoid financial sanctions, ensure fair competition and protect the rights of consumers.” – added the DPSU.

Since the beginning of the year, the State Tax Service has carried out more than 2,000 inspections in the field of retail trade in technology and electronics, during which large-scale violations were recorded. According to the results of these inspections, fines totaling more than 228 million hryvnias were imposed on business entities.
