“Ukrzaliznytsia” starts importing electricity to relieve the Ukrainian power system
“Ukrzaliznytsia” has decided to start importing electricity, which during the winter period will account for about half of the company’s total consumption. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.
“To relieve the Ukrainian power system, Ukrzaliznytsia, on behalf of the Headquarters for the Elimination of the Consequences of the Emergency Situation in the Energy Sector, is starting to import electricity, the message states.
In the winter period, the company plans to cover approximately 50% of its own needs with imported electricity.
The message also notes that railway workers continue to participate in restoration work after massive attacks on the country’s energy and critical infrastructure.
“Every day, more than 40 emergency crews of Ukrzaliznytsia work in Kyiv to restore heat to Ukrainian homes as quickly as possible and eliminate the consequences of attacks on critical infrastructure,”, the company reports.
Railway workers from different regions of Ukraine are involved in these works, some of whom have experience in restoring heating networks, in particular after the accident in Alchevsk in 2006.
