Poland plans to review presidential election results

In Poland, it is planned to revise the results of the presidential elections due to protocols with errors filled in at individual polling stations. A meeting on this issue is scheduled for June 9. This was reported by a member of the election commission Rishard Kalish. informs Euronews.

“The meeting of the National Election Commission on the issue of entering incorrect data on the counting of votes in the minutes of some district election commissions will be held on June 9, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.”, Kalish said.

He noted that after considering the report of the election commission and the submitted protests, the Supreme Court will make a decision on the validity of the presidential elections. Citizens and other subjects can submit written objections until June 16. According to the representative of the Supreme Court, Monika Drval, 21 protests regarding the voting results have already been received.

So far, more than 160,000 Poles have signed a petition demanding a recount of votes, particularly in districts where violations were recorded.

“Given the extremely small difference of 369,591 votes between the candidates in the last presidential election, the very large number of invalid ballots – 189,000, as well as numerous reports of irregularities in the work of the election commissions, we consider ourselves obliged to demand a recount of all the votes cast.”, the authors of the petition explained.

It will be recalled that the winner of the presidential elections in Poland was the candidate from the “Law and Justice” party, Karol Nawrocki, who received 50.89% of the votes in the second round. His opponent, representative of the “Civic Platform” Rafal Tshaskovsky, won the support of 49.11% of voters.
