Until 1 January, MSECs will work under the old rules: Radutsky
The head of the parliamentary committee on the health of the nation, Mykhailo Radutskyi, said that until the end of the year, the regional medical and social expert commissions (MSEK) will continue to work under the old system. During the telethon, he noted that the complete termination of the work of the commissions is impossible without the proper transfer of their functions to the new structure.
Radutsky emphasized that currently people need the services provided by MSEK, including prosthetics and disability assessment.
“They will work under the old system, but under the control that will be there today. I hope that by the end of the year we won’t have any loud scandals. I do not think that these people are immortal and fearless. They should understand that the whole country is watching them today. So I think it will be a little easier. Because today we cannot leave people without such a commission“, said the People’s Deputy.
The functions of the central MSEK in Kyiv, which was responsible for control and the possibility of appealing the decisions of district commissions, have been transferred to the Institute of the Ministry of Health in Dnipro, which specializes in relevant examinations. According to Radutskyi, this will allow maintaining order and access to important services during the transition period.
“I think that until January, the government will do everything possible so that people do not feel this transition period“, he added.
The decision to liquidate MSEK in Ukraine was made on October 22 by the National Security and Defense Council after a series of corruption scandals. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree that sets the start of this process on December 31. By this time, the working groups must review the previously issued decisions of the MSEK, in particular, regarding the validity of granting disability. As Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted, a new European model will be created instead of the MSEK, the development of which should be completed by the Ministry of Health within a week.
