US and allies discuss DPRK’s interference in the war against Ukraine: Kirby

The United States is actively investigating reports of a possible transfer of North Korean troops to Russia for their participation in the war against Ukraine. This information was confirmed on October 21 by White House adviser John Kirby, who quotes “Voice of America”. Kirby noted that if the information that the North Korean military is joining the hostilities on the side of Russia is confirmed, it will be a very disturbing development.

“We are certainly continuing to study these reports, we are also discussing this with our allies. If it is true that North Korean soldiers are going there to join the war against Ukraine, it would certainly represent a dangerous and very disturbing development.” Kirby said.

He also emphasized that the USA will make an official statement on this issue in the near future. According to him, such assistance from the DPRK indicates the desperation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is forced to turn to such countries as North Korea.

“I think all this proves that Putin is becoming more and more desperate and more and more isolated on the world stage,” added an adviser to the Biden administration.

Kirby also drew attention to the huge losses of Russian troops, noting that recently Russia has been losing more than 1,200 soldiers every day, and this is a significant figure.

It was previously reported that South Korean satellites recorded the movement of North Korean troops on the territory of Russia — 1,500 North Korean special forces soldiers are in Vladivostok. Also, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, said that about 11,000 North Korean infantrymen are undergoing training in the east of Russia and should be sent to the front in November.
