US, Germany, Britain and France lift restrictions on long-range weapons for Ukraine

The USA, Germany, Great Britain and France have lifted restrictions on the use of long-range weapons by Ukrainian forces. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated this. informs Clash Report.

According to Merts, this decision is of historical significance – from now on, Ukraine can use Western long-range weapons for strikes on the territory of Russia. The chancellor also expressed his support for the transfer of 100-150 Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. These missiles are analogues of the British-French Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG.

“There are no longer any limits on the range of weapons supplied to Ukraine – neither by the British, nor by the French, nor by us, nor by the Americans. This means that Ukraine can now defend itself, in particular, by striking military positions on the territory of Russia. Until a certain moment, she could not do it.” Mertz noted.

Earlier in Germany it was reported that it was Friedrich Merz who would make the decision regarding the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Taurus missiles. His public statements about the probability of hitting the Crimean bridge with these missiles caused outrage from Russia.

After the formation of the new government, Mertz’s spokesman Stefan Cornelius confirmed that Germany was ready to consider the transfer of long-range weapons under certain conditions. According to him, the decision on the use of long-range systems will be prepared and announced in the coming days.

At the same time, in Germany, details regarding the amount of planned military aid were previously classified, so information about the actual supplies will become known only after the weapons are used on the battlefield.
