VAKS confiscated over UAH 7 million for three luxury cars of a people’s deputy
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has declared assets related to the People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation Serhiy Lytvynenko, worth over 7 million hryvnias, unfounded. This was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.
The panel of judges of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has granted the claim of the SAPO prosecutor regarding assets registered for a number of individuals and legal entities related to the People’s Deputy. These are the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser 200, 2020 BMW 730LD, and 2020 BMW X5.
The court ruled to recover their value in the amount of 7,255,976 hryvnias from the state revenue. The decision can be appealed within 30 days from the date of its full text.
According to the investigation, in 2020–2021 these cars were purchased into private ownership by the unofficial drivers of the people’s deputy and a legal entity related to him. After the purchase, the vehicles were used by the official, in particular for entering the territory of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
After analyzing the income and expenses of the people’s deputy and his family members, the NACP established the impossibility of purchasing these cars at the expense of legal income.
