Violations were detected at 69% of drinking water supply facilities in Ukraine
Since the beginning of 2025, the State Production and Consumer Service conducted inspections of 967 enterprises and 7,715 water supply facilities in Ukraine, revealing violations of sanitary legislation at 5,328 of them, which is 69%.
2,610 enterprises of centralized drinking water supply and 45,337 water supply facilities are under the control of the service, including:
- 10,442 objects of centralized water supply;
- 34,895 non-centralized water supply facilities, including 420 pumping stations, 2,788 drinking water filling points, 31,592 mine wells and 95 spring catchments.
In addition, the service supervises 1,395 water drainage facilities, of which it inspected 42 this year. In 10 of them (23.8%), violations of sanitary standards were found – unsatisfactory condition of equipment and premises, lack of a sufficient number of means for disinfection, as well as non-compliance with the deadlines for medical examinations by staff.
Laboratories of the State Production and Consumer Service examined 700,273 water samples in 2025. Of these, 23,509 samples of centralized water supply and 1,190 samples from non-centralized sources did not meet the requirements of sanitary legislation.
According to the results of inspections, the department sent 3,157 prescriptions, letters and recommendations to eliminate violations. To date, 1,263 of them (40%) have been completed. Also, one fine was imposed in Kyiv region and one case was transferred to law enforcement agencies in Mykolaiv region.
